About the jam
Ctrl+Alt+Disinfo is a multi-stage, international game jam to create high-quality, engaging video games focused on teaching media literacy and critical thinking to increase skepticism around propaganda and disinformation.
JAM FoRMAT
Two Days
January 2025: The first round kicks off. Participate through the Global Game Jam or select any two-day window between 17-26 Jan to get started.
Two Weeks
January – February 2025: Iterate your idea and build out a prototype during the second round (27 Jan. – Feb 9). Ukrainian teams can submit for one of 20 $1K microgrants.
Two Months
February – March 2025: Leverage mentors and expert feedback to revise and refine your game to submit for judging at the end of the third round (18 Feb. – 17 April).
During this time, teams will design, develop, iterate and refine their games. The event will culminate with a final pitch event. This hybrid convening will consist of in-person meetings to be held in Krakow in May with a virtual option to attend.
In the lead-up to — beginning in November 2024 — and throughout the jam, teams will receive support via educational workshops and online resources, mentorship and expert insights, project feedback and opportunities for microfunding.
Winning teams will be supported in bringing their games to commercialization.
